How our drain pages are researched and written
Good drain advice should be accurate, local and easy to follow. This page explains where our information comes from, what we refuse to publish and how to report a mistake.
How are sources chosen?
Local facts come from public sources: the City of Henderson's utility, water quality and building code pages, the U.S. Geological Survey, published local history, and established reference material on plumbing parts such as traps, vents and grease interceptors. Official sources are preferred over secondary ones, and a fact that cannot be traced to a reliable source is left out.
When a sentence depends on a source, it carries a small number that links to that source at the bottom of the page. Pages are written in our own words, not copied from sources or other websites. General plumbing guidance is hedged with words such as "usually" and "often", because pipes, fixtures and soil differ from one home to the next.
What we won't publish
- Made-up statistics, reviews or testimonials
- Promises about arrival times, round-the-clock service or results
- Claims about licences, insurance or experience that we can't verify
- Advice that could put someone at risk, like mixing drain chemicals
- Pages that only swap a neighborhood name into the same text
AI-generated images
The images on this site are AI-generated illustrations. They show what a fixture, tool or drain problem generally looks like, and they are not photographs of real Henderson homes, real customers or completed jobs. Image descriptions are written to describe what is shown, not to suggest that work took place.
Review and update cadence
Pages are checked against their sources before publishing and reviewed when local rules, utility guidance or plumbing code editions change, and at least once a year. The date at the top of each page shows its last review; most pages were last reviewed on 6 November 2026.
Pages are written for readers first. We keep sentences short, explain trade terms the first time they appear, and put the most useful answer near the top so you can act quickly when a drain is misbehaving.
How are corrections handled?
If you spot an error, raise it by calling the number on this site and naming the page and the detail you believe is wrong. Reported errors are checked against the cited source or a better one; if the page is wrong, it is corrected and its updated date changes. Corrections that change the meaning of advice are made promptly rather than waiting for the next scheduled review.
Independence
This site is a referral service. Contractors your call may reach do not write or approve these pages, and the information is not shaped to favour any company. More about the referral model is on the about page.
FAQ
How the drain information on this site is written
Answers here focus on how these pages are written; see the [questions hub](/faq/) for more.
Where does the drain information on this site come from?
Drain information on this site is drawn from public sources such as City of Henderson utility pages, the city's water quality report, USGS material and general plumbing references. Each page lists its sources, and specific facts are cited with numbered references. General plumbing guidance is phrased cautiously, because conditions vary from one home to the next.
Are the photos on these drain pages real job photos?
Many images on these drain pages are AI-generated illustrations rather than photos of real jobs or real Henderson homes. The images show what a fixture, tool or drain problem generally looks like. They don't depict a specific contractor, customer or completed job, and shouldn't be read as evidence of work performed.
How often are the drain guides and service pages reviewed?
Drain guides and service pages are reviewed periodically, and each page shows the date it was published and last updated. Reviews check that sources still support the facts cited and that local details, such as city responsibilities, remain current. Pages are updated when a source changes or a correction is reported.
How do I report a mistake on one of these drain pages?
Mistakes on these drain pages are reported by calling, since the site doesn't publish an email address or contact form. Mention the page and the detail you believe is wrong, plus a source if you have one. Reported corrections are checked against reliable references, and the page's updated date changes when a fix is made.
